8 months…8 long months until we managed to get another away win and boy, what a win! 0-4 in the tough trip that Anoeta usually is for us (1 out of 13 victories in previous seasons) Simeone’s team is managing to win and convince the many skepticals that still doubt that the comeback is for good. Top spots of the chart have gone from far away and unreachable to just a few points away. The next match against Osasuna at Pamplona should set the trend and if Atleti manage to win we’re in the fight for the Champions League spots for good. We’ll see!

Good stuff!
Keep it up
As usual another great episode, guys. Thank you once again for the great work you are doing. You know what is about to come now..
Another novel about your podcast…
At first I want to protest and point out that (although it seems like I’m getting kind of substitute for Ricky
) i am not planning to come on the podcast only when he is not there. One day we’ll be on the podcast together Ricky!
To Gary’s words about Diegos yellow cards for backchatting: This is something that has always been a problem with Diego. It was a topic during his time in Bremen and last year ins Wolfsburg as well. Seems like this is part of his character. Actually he had at least one time every season here in Germany where he just lost it and got sent off with the red card. Although I have to say that german refs were quite kind to him (one thing thatwas always pissed me off)
To the point about the teams abilities to cope with injuries. Sure you have a point that we’ll definitely struggle if any of our high quality players like Falcao, Adrian or Arda gets a long term injury but the problem is what would be the alternative to it. To be able to cope with a loss of those players for injuries we’d need to have a player of the same quality on the bench. But that would surely result in problems if the bench player does not get enough playing time.
And as we are not Real Madrid or Barcelona we’ll not be able to have that. We just don’t have the money for it. And if we are honest. Even a Real would have a problem if Cristiano Ronaldo would be out for 6 months. Or Barcelona if Xavi, Messi or Iniesta would be out. They’d be able to cope in a better way and are on another nivel but it would not be the same. Injuries are always a risk. But there is nothing you can do against it if you don’t have a squad of 40 players with the same quality and with no one complaining.
You got kind of carried away with the Competition thing for Primera Division. I think you have a point that Spain has some kind of “Barca & Real Primera” and “The Primera division of the rest.” Kind of sad thing but the Leaque is competitive if you just ignore the first two. Ricky did say Bundesliga was a better example. This is maybe because you don’t have the close insight into it like we have here. Sure there are some more teams competiting for being Champion but Germany only has one really international competitive team: Bayern Munich. And other teams only get Champions if they play a bad season. It is just as impossible to reach an european spot for a smaller team as it is in Spain. Because although it is not such a great difference as it is in Spain but smaller german clubs do have to handle their lives with smaller budgets as well. Surely there are exceptions as you can see in the examples Mainz, Hannover or the green and black pest from the border to the Netherlands. But they are only exceptions. Just like Levante is this year. It is possible to get up but its something that is more like a thing for just one season.
One sentence to the so called Financial Fairplay that UEFA is planning: This whole thing is just a sham. The large clubs will always find a way to evade this thing. The only ones who will suffer from this are the smaller ones.
To statistics I’d only like to quote a german saying (translated): “Do not trust any statistics unless you faked them yourself”
That was this weeks novel about your podcast. I should really consider opening a blog “My weekly rant about This is Atleti”
