Four games in a row with a clean sheet, 10 out of 12 points collected, zero games lost in January, great attitude from the players, Godin scoring,… seriously… what else could we ask for?! For it to last!
Gary and Derek ponder this week about the very important win against an always tough Osasuna that sold their defeat at a high price. Simeone’s eleven warriors won another battled on this reconquest of lost spots on the table which hopefully will take us to the top positions with access to Champions League football and on the way enjoy the second half of the season that started this weekend. Next up is Valencia, another tough obstacle for Cholo to try to overcome. If he and his boys are successful the fourth position might be closer than we would have ever imagined seeing it at the begginning of February.
Let’s enjoy the dream while it lasts!

Good Morning and Welcome to my “weekly rant about the episode of This is Atleti”
As this was quite a short episode, i’ll try to make it short. I really do!
At first I’d like to wish good luck to Ricky for all his upcoming exams. I keep my fingers crossed for you!
On the first topic of the episode where you pointed out the difference between Manzano and Simeone. I agree with you on that. I believe he was way too nice for our team and really tried to much for everyone to be okay and on his side than having a plan. We in Germany say that “Nice is the ugly sister of shit”. It seems like the team needs a strong hand with a plan who tells them exactly what he expects from them, what the plan is and what they have to do. Giving the players confidence on the pitch is another thing that we really lacked under Manzano.
To the match against Osasuna it has to be pointed out before, that we all know how many of these chances to get up in the table or qualify for something we have messed up in the past. The match has not been as good as the ones before and most of us were really suffering in the last 10 Minutes, but at least we were able to fulfill the expectation and use the opportunity which brought us a step closer to the European spots.
On Raul García I’m also agreeing on your points. Additionally all those little fouls he made somehow made me feel like he enjoyed giving payback to the players who fought with him in the last season for the starting positions
I also can’t understand the criticism on Adrián. He is one of our players with the most team-friendly attitude. He is still young so he will have some downs or some bad matches just like everyone has. Also no one would complaining about him being “selfish” if that ball would have been a goal.
I personally think that it is not a bad thing to build up some kind of “loaning relation” with Rayo Vallecano. They are struggling financially and we need our youth players to get experience. The players don’t have to move, don’t have to adapt to another city, country or language and they are playing in the Primera Division. For me this is some kind of win-win Situation.
To Reyes return to Sevilla: We all know that Karma is a bitch!
Finally I want to protest about Gary’s idea to lose against Lazio! I haven’t seen a defeat in this year’s Europa League campaign live and I don’t want to do so in Rome!
To all those points I did not mention now, I’m agreeing without more comments.
Great episode as always guys although I somehow missed Ricky
Greets from Siberia erm… Germany
PS: There is still one M too much on the main page in the comment button (I’ll mention this now every week until you change it
)
Somehow missing Ricky?! Somehow?! WTF?! Hahaha…
I couldn’t agree more with most of your comments and we have a fresh new epsisode lined up so you can get your weekly ranting over with! Thanks for your kind comments though you only “somewhat” miss me!! You should miss me a lot everytime I don’t show up!! LOL! Hope to read you soon.
